I am an associate professor at the computer science department of the federal university of the state of espírito santo in the capital vitória on the south-eastern coastline of brazil.

my.formation
I studied computer science at the technical university of karlsruhe in germany and graduated with the ‘diplom’. I have got a Ph. D. in electrical engineering from the universidade nova de lisboa in portugal.
my.research interests
I am researching in the area of pattern recognition in general and fault detection and diagnosis in special. Besides I have worked in the areas of computer vision, handwriting recognition, and computer graphics.
